Question 1

Install MintDisk

Accepted Answer

Download the MintDisk installer for your platform. On macOS, drag MintDisk into Applications. On first launch, grant disk permissions if prompted so MintDisk can scan and clean selected caches.

Question 2

Opening MintDisk for the first time on macOS

Accepted Answer

On macOS, the first launch may prompt for confirmation for apps downloaded from the web. Click Open to continue.

Question 3

Activate your license

Accepted Answer

Open MintDisk, go to the License section, and paste the key from your purchase email. Activation links this Mac to your license. Each plan allows a set number of Macs, and plans differ only by how many Macs you can run on, never by features.

Question 4

Move MintDisk to a new Mac

Accepted Answer

Sign in to your account portal, find the Mac you no longer use, and deactivate it. That frees a slot so you can activate MintDisk on the new Mac. You can move your license between machines yourself without contacting support.

Question 5

Download the DMG

Accepted Answer

Your purchase email and your account portal both link to the latest DMG. Always download MintDisk from mintdisk.com or the link in your email so you get the genuine build.

Question 6

Quarantine safety net

Accepted Answer

Cleaned files are placed in an isolated quarantine or system Trash with a 30-day restore safety net before permanent deletion.

Question 7

How MintDisk protects your files

Accepted Answer

MintDisk scans in read-only mode by default. Selected files on macOS local volumes are moved to the Trash so you can restore them anytime.

Question 8

Account portal

Accepted Answer

The account portal at mintdisk.com/account lets you sign in by email, view your license and activations, deactivate a Mac, and find your latest download. No password to remember; sign-in is by a one-time email link.

Question 9
